This year’s spring tour will be held in Limerick Forest. Address is 1175 Limerick Rd. Oxford Station. Event Starts at 10 am.
Spring is always the nicest time of the year to walk in the forest.

We meet at and depart from the Limerick Interpretation Center Parking Lot.

Description: We will be touring a forest that has been afforested as far back as the 1940’s. We will get to see how the forest has responded to each management activity. Activities include planting of certain species of Trees from Eastern White Cedar to White Pine, Red Pine, effect of a microburst etc.
There will also be lots of opportunity to identify Buckthorn with assistance from chapter members and experts.
Bring: hiking boots, lunch, bug spray and raincoat or umbrella if necessary. If you have a tree book bring that too.
Tour will typically end at around 2pm and definitely before 3 pm.
- First get to Highway 416 Exit 24.
- Head 6.0 km towards and past Oxford Station or southwest on Leeds and Grenville Rd 20 toward Law Rd.
- Turn left on Limerick Road and head 4.1 km to the Interpretation Centre on your right at 1175 Limerick Rd.
If you are using GPS you may need to enter 1175 Limerick Forest Road instead of 1175 Limerick Road.
